Boasting a cast of diverse and dynamic Canadian women including Singapore’s rising starlet, Izyan Mellyna, The Vagina Monologues – a powerful collection of anecdotes celebrating all things feminine – will not be just a monologue but a "visual, aural, sensory feast of curves, flesh and finesse accompanied by lush art installations and evocative soundscapes".
Presented by the University of Toronto, Centre for Women’s Studies and Education (CWSE), the performance is in aid of International Women’s Day and all ticket proceeds will go towards charity.
Loretta will also present a Pop Fem(inist) seminar "Vent, Venture, Adventure: Women, Censorship & the Theatre As Release" through which she hopes to give "crucial insights to the seedy underbelly of women's theatre in Singapore, examines the intricacies and idiosyncrasies of censorship in the Confucianist island-state and enables an intimate understanding of the theatre as release." The seminar-cum-workshop will be held 6.30pm, Feb 15 at CWSE.
