Stephen Jerzak is another great example that MySpace is still an A&R paradise of new music talent. The 17 year-old singer started posting tracks on MySpace last year and developed a huge following of fans. The Wisconsin singer explains, "At first, it started out as a hometown thing and everybody at my school was like, 'Hey, I love that new song you put up!' After a short while, then people from all around the country starting listening and it became a lot bigger than I ever thought it would be."
His first claim to fame is the MySpace hit "Cute," which he likes to describe as "electro acoustic" that he put together on Apple's Garageband.
Now signed to Universal Republic, his new single clearly received a big studio treatment. "She Said" is a oddly infectious slice of guilty-pleasure pop that features the vocals of Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester who brings a welcome sense of pop sophisication to song. Love it or hate it, but it could easily top the pop charts before the end of the summer. Stephen Jerzak "She Said" ft. Leighton Meester by arjanwrites
