Can a conversation between two people over a plate of carrot cake turn into the basis for a movie? First-time director Michael Wang certainly thinks so. But after watching the film, we have to disagree.

Danielle O'Malley plays a failed American actress stranded in transit in Singapore for one night, on her way to New Zealand, where she meets a trader (Alaric Tay) who caught his wife cheating on him, and in return cheats on her with the beautiful prostitute (the ultra-hot Andrea Fonseka) who dreams of being a blues singer. Meanwhile, another restless soul (Adrian Pang) is at the crossroads of his life.

Now read that again. A prostitute that wants to be a singer. A cuckolded trader. A failed actress. A restless soul at the crossroads of his life. If you can't smell the corn, you don't know much about movies.

The worst part about Carrot Cake Conversation would be the conversations themselves. Imagine remarks like "A little island free from the intemperateness of the world" and "the only things that's subjective is whether I'm bad or terrible." Who talks like that?
