By chance, would there be any Fridae reader who actually watches Hannah Montana on Disney Channel? Most of the show's fans are below 15, so we're guessing you don't. At any rate, if you do actually watch it, stop reading this - you should be joining thousands of young girls thronging the cinemas right this minute to see their favourite idol.

Hannah Montana, if you don't already know, is a wildly popular series about a teenage girl (played by 16-year-old Miley Cyrus) who leads a double life. By day, she is an ordinary brunette student called Miley Stewart who just wants to hang with her friends. By night, she puts on a blonde wig and becomes a rockstar called Hannah Montana worshipped by millions. (Apparently, one blonde wig is enough to hide her real identity.)

The movie begins when Miley's father (played by Miley's real-life Dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus) thinks that all that success has gone into her head. (And if you've seen the real-life interviews with Miley recently, you'd think so too.) So he decides to take her out of their L.A. mansion and send her to humble Tennessee to live with her grandmother. Hopefully, the simple country life will restore some humility and common sense in her...

Using the same formula as the TV show, the movie thrives on a smart-alecky attitude, cheesy dialogue, endless costume changes, and numerous aren't-I-cute poses. We'd probably love this stuff if we were 12 - but we're a little older than that. Fans, on the other hand, will certainly lap this up.
