Janelle Monae"s "Cold War" is a powerful anthem that carries a universal message about personal courage and individual empowerment.

The artist could not have picked a more perfect song to perform at last weekend's Nobel Peace Prize concert that celebrated the Nobel Peace Prize win of three women who relentlessly advocate the equal rights of women.

During the intro of the song, Monae spoke candidly about the meaning of the "Cold War" and dedicated her performance to the three 2011 Nobel Peace Prize winners - Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee of Libya and Tawakkul Karman of Yemen.

The three women received the coveted prize for their non-violent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peace-building work. Watch Monae's touching performance that adds more spark to her brightly shining star. She's simply flawless in every way.
