Check out a totally guilt-free download of a brand-new track by Welsh songstress Jem. This little gem is called "On Top Of The World" and it is the closing track on her her forthcoming new album "Down To Earth" that will be released on September 16 on ATO Records. This disc also includes the song "It's Amazing" that was featured on the Sex In The City soundtrack.

"Down To Earth" is a diverse collection of songs, which Jem wrote and produced with hip-hop producer Jeff Bass, one of the two brothers credited with discovering Eminem, and producer Lester Mendez (Shakira, Santana and Nelly Furtado). A press release states, "The album reflects the singer/songwriters far-ranging influences including Brazilian percussion on the title track, Detroit Gospel choirs, a Stevie Wonder inspired 'Crazy' complete with funky banjo, and the tempestuous Latin-flavored track 'I Want You To' a collaboration originally earmarked for a solo album by turntable whiz Cut Chemist."

"On Top Of World" is a beautifully melodic and soothing track that prominently features Jem's warm, ethereal timbre. Kinda angelic sounding actually. This is not the patchwork style that marked Jem's first album. Instead she presents a mature and evolved sound on this track that is clearly aiming for contemporary radio.
