This is definitely the funniest cartoon we have seen in a while. Not only does it combine droll British humor and slapstick American gags effectively, it also boasts some memorable characters and a surprise-filled storyline. We really think you should see it!
Hugh Jackman provides the voice of an upper-class English rat who lives the high life in a big Kensington mansion. One night, a stranger invades his home and flushes him down his own toilet bowl. Ending up in the sewer, he discovers a bright and bustling community of rats living there. At first, he is desperate to return to his home above. But he finds himself gradually succumbing to the charms of a feisty female rat (Kate Winslet) while trying to save her community from disaster...
Directed by David Bowers and Sam Fell, Flushed Away is the result of a collaborative effort between the famous British animation company Aardman Features (of Wallace and Gromit fame) and DreamWorks Animation (of Shrek fame). The marriage, we are happy to say, is a healthy one. The combined expertise of writers and animators from both companies has produced in some truly hilarious moments and characters, such as the karate-ing frogs and singing slugs.
Ok, we will shut up now before you start thinking we work for these two companies...
