The first Aliens vs Predator was soooooooo bad. But it grossed a spectacular US$170 million worldwide, so the studios simply had to make another one.
Once again, the rastafarian-haired bounty hunters (the Predators) are at war with the big-headed long-tailed creatures (the Aliens). The innocent bystanders namely, the humans are bound to get killed in this violent face-off. You know this because all of the human characters are played by completely unknown actors.
Directed by Colin and Greg Strause (who did the special-effects for films like 300 and Galaxy Quest, Aliens vs Predator 2: Requiem is thankfully more entertaining than boring compared to the first film. The scenes are generally better-shot and more efficient, and the fighting sequences are certainly more watchable.
But it is still a B-grade movie with plenty of B-grade ideas. If that's your idea of a great popcorn movie, then please get into the queue.
