Another week, another cheap horror flick.

Jessica Lowndes (90210) plays a recent college grad who is driving cross-country with three friends. On a dark road in the middle of nowhere, their car crashes into another. Soon, the ambulance arrives and whisks them to a hospital that has very few staff and even fewer patients. Before they can say “dude, this is weeiiird”, they find themselves lying on operating tables, as gleeful scalpels hover above their eyes…

Directed by Adam Gierasch, Autopsy is a very typical of today’s horror flicks: It keeps its audience on edge with carefully-orchestrated music, and then shocks them with grisly images of cut-up limbs and appendages. There is very little that’s original here, including the revelation of what the hospital is for.

If there’s anything that requires an autopsy, it’s the director’s talents.
