[FIRST LISTEN] Prince Royce "Addicted"

Prince Royce is one of Latin music's brightest new stars who is getting ready to impress the mainstream pop world with some new English-language crossover material. Check out the very sweet tastemaker "Addicted" to get a feel for Royce's emotive, passionate delivery and finely-tuned balladry that combines Tropical Latin with contemporary R&B pop rhythms.

Hailing from the Bronx, NY, the 22 year-old Prince Royce is the son of Dominican parents who raised their baby boy on a steady diet of tropical beats, Latin pop and R&B. As a teenager, Royce started making his own music inspired by traditional Bachata.

Bachata is a genre of Latin music that originates from the Dominican Republic and is marked guitar-driven stories about love, loss and longing. It is one of those touching genres of music that perfectly aligns with Spanish and its subtle capability to invoke romance and emotion unlike any other language.

Royce created a youthful new version of Bachata that took the Latin music world by storm. His self-titled debut album was an instant sensation that garnered him not only chart success but also critical-acclaim. "Prince Royce" was certified double platinum in the U.S. and the singer received Billboard Award nominations, plus a coveted nod at the Latin GRAMMYS for Best Contemporary Tropical Album.

With the help of Atlantic Records, Prince Royce is now looking to cross over into the pop and R&B mainstream with his forthcoming new English-language album that will feature "Addicted." He's also a special guest on the U.S. leg of Enrique Iglesias’ Euphoria Tour, alongside Pitbull, to introduce his music to American audiences. Be in the know early, and listen to "Addicted" after the break.
