[FIRST LISTEN] Listen to Icona Pop's Debut EP Title Track "Nights Like This"

Swedish electro alt-pop outfit Icona Pop is releasing their much anticipated debut EP "Nights Like This" today. The EP is filled with soaring synths, deliciously cheering vocals and Atari-esque electronica that artists like Frankmusik would salivate over.

Icona Pop are the duo of Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt who met by chance on a night out in Stockholm. Aino was "looking to get over her recent break up" and met Caroline as they connected over a love of music, fashion and a good night out on the town.

Soon after, the two girlfriends quickly started working together on songs for the newly formed Icona Pop with producers such as Patrick Berger (Robyn, Darren Hayes) and Elof Loelv (Niki and the Dove).

The "Nights Like This" EP features the Berger-produced "Manners," which has not only garnered support from early adopter pop fans but also Dolce & Gabbana and Kitsuné, and the song was even sampled on Chiddy Bang's "Mind Your Manners" single from their debut LP "Breakfast."

Check out the title track from "Night Like This," which is best described as a hearty brew of crunchy, well orchestrated synth pop that is not only very quirky but also very catchy and totally fun. Lyrically, the song seems to have been inspired by that wild night on the town when Aino and Caroline first met and decided to work together. (Purchase the EP on iTunes.)
