Shanghai Pride 2017 saw 34 separate events on 19 different days across four months—attracting at least 6,000 LGBT and allies in China’s second city. It wrapped up in June.
The ninth annual Shanghai Pride saw events from parties to film festivals, fun runs to exhibitions, live music to yoga, and, of course, a pride march.
“Shanghai has become more diverse and tolerant in the past nine years,” said Director of the festival Evie Wu. “We received much positive feedback from grassroots organizations during Pride week, which has encouraged us to continue moving forward. The Time Is Now for CnPRIDE!”
