"I wanted to move away from musicals for a while and try writing a good drama about Singaporeans. The Good Citizen has been in development since last year and undergone several workshops, a staged reading and numerous re-writes. I am elated to see it finally being staged," said Dick Lee who will spearhead Stage Two.
Synopsis
Cynthia Han is a Nominated Member of Parliament and a successful architect in her own right. She is a shining example of a Singaporean who loves her country with a deep passion. When her industrialist husband passes away, the perfect world around her begins to crumble and even her loved ones begin to transform before her very eyes. Values are put to the test in this thought-provoking and relevant drama.
Directed by Christian Huber, The Good Citizen stars Koh Chieng Mun, Brendon Fernandez and Loke Loo Pin. Premiering on the 8 September, this play questions everyone's pre-conceived notions of what it might mean to be a good citizen.
