Based on the Marvel comic character, Nicolas Cage plays a motorbike stuntman who sells his soul to the devil in order to save his father and sweetheart (bombshell Eva Mendes). The price he pays is this: By day, he's human; but by night, he turns into a leather-cloaked skeleton with a flaming skull-face.
Made by Columbia Pictures, the same studio behind the Spiderman movies, Ghost Rider is already a big hit in the USA, opening at the top of the box-office despite getting very bad reviews. Apparently, lots of teenagers, young men and fans of the comic book are flocking to the theatres just to see a skeleton speeding in a spectacular burning bike.
We've seen the movie and we think that, despite its superb CGI effects, the film is still somewhat cheesy, childish and occasionally stupid. So we're guessing that the average Fridae reader won't really enjoy it. But of course, if you happen to enjoy comic book adaptations like Daredevil and Elektra, then please pleeeaase don't let us stop you.
