Free Download: Louis XIV 'Guilty By Association'

"You don't have to do the crime to serve the time."

Louis XIV's new single "Guilty By Association" is all over the place. It is a fun and tight neo-glam ditty for all you post-punk hipsters out there. I haven't been a fan of their previous work, but what I like about this new single is Jason Hill's frantic, intense vocal delivery that reminds me a bit of Marc Bolan.

The song is taken from the group's upcoming new album "Slick Dogs and Ponies" that will be in stores on January 29. It follows their critically-acclaimed debut "The Best Little Secrets Are Kept" that they released almost three years ago.

A press release explains that on their sophomore effort, the San diego group "explores new sonic terrain" with a "lush, grandiose collection that includes string arrangements by world renowned composer David Campbell" that makes up for "a record that demonstrates a devotion to artistic growth, blending classical sensibility with their rock and roll roots."

At one point Brandon Flowers and Jason Hills talked about collaborating more when The Killers and Louis XIV were on tour together in the U.S. a couple of years ago. Not sure if that is still something that might happen as both bands have clearly traveled in different directions.
