Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, Sin City) is one of the most gifted B-movie directors of our generation. It was only a matter of time before he turned his attention to that beloved B-grade horror genre, the zombie flick.
Planet Terror is a terrifically trashy movie about a top-secret military experiment that transforms the residents of a small Texas town into the walking dead. As more and more people turn into zombies, it is up to a small band of survivors — led by Rose McGowan and her boyfriend Freddy Rodriguez — to save the town.
This movie is deliberately B-grade, so you get lots of blood spilling in some eye-poppingly gory scenes. Ridiculously enough, amputee Rose McGowan has a machine gun for a prosthetic leg so she simply has to cock up her thigh to shoot down those never ending parade of zombies.
No doubt, Planet Terror is the most fun thing you'll find in the cinema this week. A must-watch for zombie fans.
