[REC] tells the story of a TV reporter (Manuela Velasco) and her cameraman who are following a group of firemen around, hoping to film them in action. When the fire brigade receives a crisis call from inside a building, the team rushes to the scene. But things start to go horribly wrong and the reporter and her cameraman find themselves trapped inside the building. Worse, there are things lurking in the dark...

Though the storyline isn't exactly original, the film is extremely well-crafted. From the fine balance of horror, drama and comedy, to the precise shock tactics, to the strong and convincing performances from the cast.
