Spread charts the rise and fall of playboy Nikki (Ashton) who has slept his way into a life of ease and luxury. He gets older women – or cougars, as they call it – to pay for his expenses, and in return he gives them the best sex they’ve ever known – or the best sex they can get at their age.Ashton Kutcher is so damn hot. As he struts around shirtless and smirking as a high-end gigolo, you can totally believe why so many women would pay top dollar for him.

One of his victims is Samantha (a terrific and sexy Anne Heche), a 40something lawyer who just wants a little bit of love now and then. They come up with an arrangement that works well for both of them, until Nikki meets a beautiful young woman (Margarita Levieva) who is playing the same game as he is – sex for money. What happens to him next is something that hustlers swear they’d never do – he falls in love with her…

Directed by David Mackenzie, Spread is a surprisingly edgy sex comedy with dark undertones. The best part of it is Anne Heche’s beautifully sympathetic performance as an aging career woman who has to come to realize that no amount of money or career satisfaction can substitute for love and physical comfort.

As for Ashton, his performance isn’t perfect. But when he takes off that shirt and smiles, you forgive his shortcomings instantly.
