1. Workshop for LBTQGNC Youth of Color (18 to 25 yrs)

This workshop is offered to LBTQGNC Youth of Color (18 to 25 yrs) Queer women, Lesbian, Bisexual, Same-Gender-Loving, Two-Spirit, Transgender, or Questioning young women of color and Genderqueer/Gender Non-conforming youth of color (18 to 25 years) who are African Descent/Black, Asian/South Asian, South West Asian/North African, Pacific Islander, Chicana/Latina, Native American/Indigenous/First Nations & Mixed-race

PLEASE NOTE
- Registration is first-come first-served basis.
- If accepted, you must be able to attend ALL 16 classes.
- Confirmation of your registration will be EMAILED to you on Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
- Class size is limited to 10 participants.
- Workshop participants will receive a stipend at the end of the workshop process upon completion of video project.
- Our QWOCMAP office is closed until Monday, January 10, 2011 for winter break. You will be notified of your acceptance to this class by Tuesday, 18 January 2011.
As many people wish to attend our Filmmaker Training Program, it is important that you can attend all 16 classes. If accepted, you must be available for a 15-minute phone meeting/interview before the workshop begins. If your circumstances change between the time of your registration and the January 14 deadline, please send us a courtesy email to inform us, so that your place may be offered to someone who can commit to attending every class.
2. QWOCMAP FREE Video Workshop for Queer Women of Color (Spring 2011) (no age restrictions)

Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP) creates, exhibits and distributes new films that authentically reflect the lives of queer women of color and connect multiple communities to the vital social justice issues that concern us all. QWOCMAP works to increase the visibility and power of our communities of through arts participation and civic engagement to diversify the cultural fabric of society, and create systemic change and social justice through art, activism, and community building.
We actively invest in, develop and nurture the creativity of emerging media artists who are Asian/Pacific Islander, Black/African American/African Descent, Chican@/Latin@, Native American/Indigenous/First Nations, South Asian, South West Asian/North African/Middle Eastern and Mixed-Race lesbians, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, queer and questioning women in the Bay Area. We include in our community trans and genderqueer people of color. We welcome our allies to participate in our Queer Women of Color Film Festival.
QWOCMAP provides professional training, equipment, screening opportunities and resources free of charge to guarantee full access to our traditionally underserved community, particularly low-income and immigrant queer women of color.
