Radical rocker Marilyn Manson (a.k.a. Brian Warner) was charged with sexually assaulting a male security guard during his set at the Michigan date on the Ozzfest tour. He faces one count of criminal sexual conduct, which is an unlawful touching of another person in a sexual manner and one count of assault and battery for spitting on a male security guard, reports the Rolling Stone Magazine.
The controversial star was allegedly masturbating over his G-string when he approached the security guard who was facing towards the audience to keep people off the stage during a performance on July 30 at the DTE Energy Music Theatre. He then spat on him and wrapped his legs around the guard and gyrated, rubbing his genitals against the head and back and neck area of the guard.
Last Friday, Manson's attorneys entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. The star faces up to one-year prison term for the sexual conduct felony and a 90-day prison term for the misdemeanour assault and battery charge.
A preliminary examination is scheduled for October 9th.
Manson and his band members who all assume first names of female icons and surnames of famous murderers have attracted widespread media attention through the years. Half of the tracks of the band's 1994 debut album Portrait Of An American Family was mixed at the house of the infamous Tate murders by the members of a Charles Manson led cult, known as the Manson Family. In 1999, the band was forced to abort their nationwide tour when two alleged fans murdered 15 of their classmates at Colombine High School in Denver, Colorado.
