Two gay men who had sex on a transatlantic flight sent a pair of F-16 fighter jets scrambling on Tuesday last week when banging and noise were heard from the plane?s tiny toilet, reports New York?s Daily News.
Police said the pair admitted smoking crack cocaine and having sex in the cramped rest room.
The cabin crew reportedly alerted the pilot that the two men were acting suspiciously, making four or five trips to the rest room together. The first officer then contacted authorities at JFK airport in New York asking for security to meet the flight when it landed.
The US Air Force scrambled two F-16 fighter jets, which intercepted the plane as it entered American airspace and accompanied the jetliner to JFK airport. The military monitored the conversation between the pilot and the ground.
Upon landing, the two passengers were escorted off by security officers and questioned by the FBI, the military, Port Authority Police, and local police.
While no drugs were found on the pair and they were not charged with any crimes, the men were denied entry to the country because they had admitted taking drugs. The men were put back on a plane bound for London.
