Former talk show host Rosie O'Donnell married Kelli Carpenter, her partner of six years, on Thursday in San Francisco where more than 3,300 other same-sex couples have tied the knot since Feb. 12.
Rosie O'Donnell marries her long-time girlfriend, Kelli Carpenter, in San Francisco.
"We were both inspired to come here after the sitting president said the vile and vicious and hateful comments he did," O'Donnell said after kissing her bride for the cameras, drawing loud cheers from onlookers
On Tuesday, President George Bush proposed a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex weddings.
"I want to thank the city of San Francisco for this amazing stance the mayor has taken for all the people here, not just us but all the thousands and thousands of loving, law-abiding couples," O'Donnell said after she and Kelli Carpenter emerged from their brief ceremony inside Mayor Gavin Newsom's office. The couple was married by Treasurer Susan Leal, one of the city's high-profile lesbian elected officials.
O'Donnell who came out publicly in 2002 after ending her six-year stint as host of "The Rosie O'Donnell Show." She has since become a champion for gay rights issues including gay adoption.
Meanwhile, California Attorney General Bill Lockyer will ask the state Supreme Court on Friday whether San Francisco's issuing of same-sex marriage licenses violates state law, which designates marriage as only between heterosexual couples.
Twenty-five years ago, California's Supreme Court upheld gay rights by saying business could not arbitrarily discriminate against homosexuals. It was also the first state high court in the US to legalise interracial marriage 56 years ago. x

can those who are there update? i'm stuck in camp.
I think that the more pertinent question is: will there still be any more gay parties to attend in Singapore?! ;)
Soi 4 last night was drenching wet. DJ Station is newly renovated (with a brand new lounge bar on the opposite side of Soi2 connected to by a sky bridge). No water splashing in DJ Station this year, but the bars and clubs are all open late for the holidays.
One more thing, i found many of my beautiful Vietnamese fellows are in Bangkok now for the Fridae parties... Come on guys!!!!

The main party was amazing too. The music did not disappoint, the place was packed to the brim and the boys were hot. Yes, we want Alex Taylor back! It would have been better if the venue was better decorated though.
The last party at Bed Supper club was simply too hot. I hope a bigger venue would be chosen next year.
it was fantastic to be able to participate in the gay & lesbians asian party again (after quite some times)
and the poolside party..OMG!! :P i bet the wet surface is a mix of drools (salivating on gorgeous men) and water (when i was pushed into the swiming pool)
loads of fun but too short of time..
bytheway, soi 6 xboom was amazing, minus the wet floor, it can be quite scary walking pass the sky bridge when the floor's too wet ..thanks to the cute thai boy i made a pass on at the lower-back staircase, something to be remembered ;)
if u ever come down to KL this Maydaze, buzz me..*LOL*

a) Squirt: I liked the venue. The Royal Orchid Sheraton Garden Pool is definitely a nice place for a pool party. Pity that the party only got going after sunset. Before, it looked like everyone was waiting for something to happen which, of course, did not. So everybody kept on waiting ... and waiting ... a bit boring. Later, when it was dark, it was fun! But then it was almost over ...
b) Slurp: What is a nice venue for a pool party is not necessarily a good venue for a clubbing event! A conference room/ballroom does not create an appropriate club atmosphere. At least not for me! And (this also applies to Squirt), hey: You guys who organised this are from Singa-pure! Where were the dustbins??? The poor Thai waiters and waitresses had to run around formally dressed (five-star hotel!) and collect empty plastic glasses and bottles. It looked a bit weird to me (19th century meets the post-modern age). Singa-pure-ans are used to not to litter anyway, so please put some dustbins in the garden/in the rooms next time, ok? And: That long q at the beginning was uncalled for! Most of the guys had tickets! Why pay a lot of money for something and then have to q for 45 mins or so! That is really bad management, sorry to say! And do not say it was because of security. Once you got rid of that unnecessary 'security' stuff, the q was moving lot faster!
c) Pink Recovery: Was good, 'same same' as the year before ...
Besides, why didn't you organise anything at Chakran this year? Last year, it was so much fun! Sure, it is about sex ... why not? I think Chakran managment would be pleased to host the next Squirt party again ...
And finally, stop moving out of the country for almost all your party events. You are a Singa-pure-an company, so do your things in Singa-bore. Otherwise, nothing will ever change there, and the corrupt Lee clan will rule forever. Or are you afraid of some PAP leaders taking you to court as they usually do with people who criticise them? Hey, there are some good lawyers in Sin City (Singapore) for you, I am sure!

Ton (Bangkok)
