Meg Myers' new "Monster" pushes all the right buttons. The song is packed with emotions that seem to conflict yet are orchestrated so perfectly that they create one potent and raw blend of seriously powerful music. It's gut-wrenching, yet intensely beautiful. It's delicate, yet packed with true grit. In other words, this "Monster" gets under your skin and will move you. Whether you want it or not.
We first introduced you to Meg when we reviewed Dr Rosen Rosen's debut "Girls" EP that included Meg's "Adelaide." Meg has been working with Dr Rosen Rosen on tracks for her upcoming debut effort. Our pal Dr Rosen Rosen is no stranger to frequent readers of our blog. He's a massively talented producer who has created remixes for artists like Natalia Kills, Graffiti6 and Lady Gaga, plus he has worked on original tunes for poppin' up-and-comers like My Name Is Kay, Jessie & The Toy Boys and Anjulie.
I had brunch with Meg and Rosen Rosen a few months ago in Hollywood and was impressed by their musical partnership. They have tapped into an incredibly creative vein while experimenting with different sounds, muscial props and recording techniques to craft deeply emotive textures that are a perfect fit for Meg's haunting and honest storytelling. Meg Myers is one of the most exciting new talents to keep your eye on in 2012. (Download "Monster" MP3)
