Pink Dot Hong Kong just 3 days away

Hong Kong's Pink Dot event, a free, non-political annual outdoor concert and carnival, will take place on Sunday 20 September at Tamar Park.

Following a tremendously successful inaugural event in 2014, Pink Dot Hong Kong announced its return to celebrate diversity under the theme “Love Is Love”.

Co-organised by BigLove Alliance and Pink Alliance, Pink Dot Hong Kong is one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated LGBTI events. A celebration of love for all, young and old, Pink Dot has the support of a number of local celebrities.

The new ambassador for Pink Dot, Gregory Wong added, “Our theme this year is ‘Love is Love’. And that’s it, love IS love, across all genders. I believe that everyone feels the inclusion of love; everyone has a little pink in their heart. I really hope that all of you will participate in this event.”

“We are very excited that such important Hong Kong personalities and corporate organisations are joining hands to participate in Pink Dot Hong Kong 2015. Their involvement strongly illustrates Pink Dot’s aim to welcome not only lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender, intersex individuals but also their families, colleagues, friends and straight allies. Pink Dot is about family in the large sense of the word”, says Betty Grisoni, a Co-Director of the project in 2015.

The list of the celebrities at Pink Dot 2015 includes Gregory Wong as ambassador, Sensi Lion, the Majestic G, Rick Lau, Tang Yi, Lee Subyub, Denis Ng, Eva Chan and Yoyo Sham artists at the day concert from 2pm to 4pm and Joyce Cheng, Eman Lam, Ellen Loo, MastaMic, JDJYB, Denise Ho, Anthony Wong and Lowell Lo entertainment the audience during the night concert from 4.30pm to 7pm.

Anthony Wong, the founder of Big Love Alliance, one of the organizing committees, said, “Hong Kong regards itself as an international metropolis.

Thus, we should strive harder to make this dream a reality, to avoid falling behind in terms of the equality, inclusion and diversity towards sexual minorities.”

This theme will be integrated throughout the Pink Dot programme, with an outdoor picnic and activities for all ages including bouncing castles, face and henna painting, tarot reading, interactive games, craft workshops, free food and drinks until stock last and much more.

Pink Dot Hong Kong 2015 will be held from 2pm Sunday, 20 September on the lawns of Tamar Park in Admiralty and end at around 7pm. As a way to create high visual impact, participants will be encouraged to wear pink and at 4pm, the audience will be asked to form a large human Pink Dot to symbolize this year’s theme: Love is love.

In 2014, Pink Dot Hong Kong attracted an estimated 12,000 visitors, closing the event with a free concert featuring Anthony Yiu-ming Wong, Denise Ho, Alex To, C AllStar, Jing Wong, Lil' Ashes, MC Yan, Shine, Ellen Loo, Vincci Cheuk and more.
