It is alleged that the Facebook page in question is a forum for a group of gay men who fantasise about having sex with monks, or men dressed like them.
It appears to publicise a pornographic video featuring what looks like a Buddhist monk engaging in sex.
According to one source the Monk appears to come from the North of Thailand while the other man featured in the video is from the Taling Chan district of Thailand's capital, Bangkok.
He claimed the man who looked like the monk in the video clip lives in the North, while the novice lives in Taling Chan district of Bangkok.
The group has around 800 members and at this stage it is unclear who set up the group or where.
The CSD said they received the complaint on Tuesday from Songkran Atchariyasap, who heads a network that investigates acts which it claims harm the nation, religion and the royal institution.
Songkran said he had provided the CSD with a copy of the two-minute long clip featuring the offending sex scene, along with the results of his own investigation into the Facebook page, according to the Bangkok post.

Why quote the age of consent?
You can delete posts on this site you know.
No, I can't delete your comments. There's no reason why I would want to delete my own.
WRONG.
It's only legal if he consented and wasn't groomed.
If you still don't see why you might want to delete your original comment ....
As for me, I have better things to do with my time than trying to educate you.
Have a good day.
I had a great day btw.
I should put you out of your misery and explain why I don't think this is a big issue, as you obviously do.
I consider it highly unlikely that the "novice" featured in the video was underage for the simple reason that paedophiles just don't operate that way. Whenever they produce something illegal, it's produced clandestinely and distributed using encryption. They don't put it out there for everyone to see and they don't set up a Facebook page advertising their activities.
What's far more likely is that the video depicting a novice taking one for the Kingdom is considered deeply offensive to Thai Buddhists who take their beliefs seriously and revere monks as part of that.
So, the fantasy is like the priest-altar boy role play. Lots of fanciful stuff happens in porn videos but using legal-age participants. That's likely to be the case here.
If the "novice" actually were underage, I trust the Thai police to do their job and deal with it appropriately.
Hope this helps.
But you still seem unsure of the novice's age and yet you stand by your initial post.
"Likely" isn't an excuse.
