In an apparent hate crime, Adnan, a member of Trans Action Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was attacked in Peshawar, Pakistan on Tuesday night.
Upon reaching Lady Reading Hospital for treatment, doctors failed to provide immediate treatment. Doctors were allegedly reluctant to treat the trans woman as they believed patients would not like to be treated at the same time as a transgender.
"Adnan was taken to Lady Reading Hospital where he was refused treatment," Trans Action member Qamar told The Nation. "The doctors and police were laughing at us, while he was bleeding."
Only when they turned to the media and human-rights leader Noor Zaman Khattak did the staff offer assistance.
According to police, the incident took place in Chamkani areas where two unidentified gunmen opened fire at the transgender and fled on a motorcycle. They have launched an investigation.

One link says a 90 min wait, the other 3 hrs. That's double.
The second link says patients were crying. No mention as to why.
it seems there was something going on prior to the shooting. It could well be that transgender wasn't the issue.
