China bans popular web drama

Go Princess Go, a web drama with LGBT content that went viral when it was released last year has been mysteriously pulled from online platform

Go Princess Go is a steamy tale of a modern man who goes back in time and lives in a female body. It received over 10 million views on the internet streaming subscription service that broadcast it, LeTV.

The series disappeared last week and LeTV released a statement saying the series was temporarily offline so that its content could be “optimized.”

However, netizens had their eyes on the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT) as the culprits.

China’s media watchdog is often heavy handed with its censorship.

Have a look at the trailer below.

Hum.It looked rather awful.

I'll wait for the optimized version.

Btw, your headline says China has banned it but there is nothing to back this up.

The editor needs to go back to reporting school.
