Openly LGBT Thai Tennis player wins first major Tournament

With the positive developments in Thailand on same-sex partnerships, it is great to also see an Out LGBT Asian athlete doing well. 

 Acccording to Out Sports, this weekend, Luksika Kumkhum won the WTA Mumbai open to claim her biggest win to date.
Tennis has had very few openly LGBT players and it is great to see an openly LGBT player in Asia, which we hope will be an inspiration for others, as well as support the positive changing of attitudes in Asia, and more widely.

Thailand’s Luksika Kumkhum is one of only four Out LGBT tennis players (all female) and the only Asian to play in a 2018 Grand Slam tournament according to OutSports.com.

This weekend, Luksika Kumkhum won the WTA Mumbai open to claim her biggest win to date.
