The Nation has produced an interesting report on the Thai Government’s interest in tapping into the LGBT consumer and traveller segment following the recent Cabinet approval of a Civil Partnership structure for same-sex couples.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) runs marketing campaigns aimed at LGBT tourism and among many other plans, the Hong Kong-based Sunpride Foundation will next November be bringing Asia’s largest LGBT art exhibition to Bangkok (). The Tourism Authority also sponsored the recent White Party in Bangkok that attracted tens of thousands of visitors.
The Nation’s report cites LGBT Capital estimates on the global LGBT population at 496 million, with 4.5 million LGBT people living in Thailand. Global purchasing power was calculated at US$3.6 trillion and spending on tourism at US$5.3 billion.
We believe it to be a very positive development when the value of the LGBT consumer is recognised as this can support positive change.

2. when travelling in thailand, gays should know behavior and left behavior from their own country, gays should know what to do by offline coaching, probably by gay organization at airport
3. Gay should know where to purchase, for example: i will cancel to buy handphone in my own country but i will buy in MBK electronic shopping centre
4. many gays organization in indonesia still very weak that they do not know what to do, more of them confusing or not able to absorb new knowledge or advance knowledge, they still look like very little girl
