Actor and singer Okkar Min Maung, who came out last year, was named an LGBT hero by Myanmar’s largest pride festival.

The actor and singer, who is also known as Ye Htoo Win, famously came out in a Facebook video last year. His revelation shocked the Myanmar public but also helped change the way LGBT people are viewed in Myanmar.
