I am not at all surprised !! I would not be surprised if the law about males with long hair is still around, I was a young guy in 1972 and had been told by police and officials that I would be arrested should I be found with my long hair taken down and left loose, I was only given a 3 day visa due to that fact of my long hair.
I am happy about the law on chewing gum though the city is very clean.

So laws which you like should stay and those you don't like should not be laws? Surely you realise life doesn't work like that.

You will be interested to know that Led Zeppelin and The Bee Gees cancelled their gigs in Singapore because of the long hair law. It is not still around. It was taken off the statute books a good quarter of a century ago.
