Christopher Tan critiques the survivalist strategies of Singapore's 2003 statement that promises equal employment opportunities to gay civil servants despite the fact that gay sex acts are still criminalised because of antiquated British colonial laws. His paper will be presented at the upcoming Conference of Asian Queer Studies in Bangkok.
