The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) has compiled 15 documented cases of killings and rapes of lesbians; and demands an immediate police investigation into the pattern of the violent murders.
At least five gay men have reported being attacked by several men – although it's too early to know if it's the same attackers involved – last week in the South Korean capital city of Seoul.
A 62-year-old gay man died 18 days after being brutally attacked by two drunken teenage girls who hurled homophobic abuse at him after being knocked to the ground by their male friend during the attack in Trafalgar Square, a court heard.
