The American Foundation for AIDS Research will lead a group of 30 to 70 participants on a fund-raising hiking expedition along the Great Wall of China.
Trek Asia for amfAR participants will each be responsible for raising at least US$10,000 for amfAR in order to join the expedition. They will gather in Beijing to begin the eight-day trek, which will take them through rarely visited parts of the Great Wall. While in China participants will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from some of the on-the-ground medical experts working to fight the country's developing HIV/AIDS epidemic regarded as the new epicenter of the global AIDS epidemic.
In 2003, UNAIDS reported that more than 1 million people were newly infected with HIV in Asia and the Pacific, bringing the total number infected in the region to between 5.3 and 9.2 million. One report estimates that by 2010 there could be as many as 10 million people living with HIV in China alone.
Funds raised through Trek Asia for amfAR will support all of amfAR's programs, including TREAT Asia, an initiative aimed at building capacity for the safe and effective delivery of HIV/AIDS treatments as they become more widely available across the continent.

I'm a relationship oriented guy. Versatile, HIV-, no drugs, no drama. Love to laugh. Live right on a lake and enjoy the water. Love to explore, and the DC area has lots of interesting things to see and do. Looking for a decent looking guy, 24 - 39, whose mind is working, has a decent sense of humor and some adventure in him. Someone who says what he means and means what he says.
