After a few weeks of anticipation, I've finally arrived in Los Angeles to cover the GRAMMYs for GRAMMY.com as their inaugural blogger. Made it into the city late last night and checked into my downtown hotel to get settled for all of the events. The televised GRAMMY show is actually the final event of GRAMMY Week here in L.A. that is filled with events and gatherings that celebrates music, producers, engineers and other people involved in the music business.
Had a few drinks with the fine folks of The Recording Academy last night to go over the schedule of this weekend. It's so super exciting! In a couple of hours I'm heading to the big GRAMMY command center at the Staples Center to pick up my all-access credentials. This will also give me a good chance to scope out the venue and really see where I need to be on Sunday. It is going to be 9 hour long live blog extravaganza so it is important to be prepared.
I will also get very exclusive access today to show rehearsals:
10am - Rihanna
11:30am - Katy Perry
1pm - Kenny Chesney
2pm - Estelle & Kanye West
3:30pm - Chris Brown
5:30pm - TI & Justin Timberlake
Hot or what?!
Tonight, The Recording Academy invited me to attend the annual MusiCares Gala that will honor Neil Diamond as the Person Of The Year. It's a very cool event that includes performances by a long list of artists that will all perform a Neil Diamond cover. Artists who will perform for a very small and exclusive group of people are Jennifer Hudson, Coldplay, Adele, The Jones Brothers and many other. So cool!
Make sure to catch my Twitter feed to see photos and get updates of everything that I'm doing today. I encourage you to open a Twitter account and join the conversation. It will be a lot of fun. Keep checking this blog all weekend for updates, random photos and things like that. My schedule is frantic, but I will try to do full blog posts as often as I can. I love to get all of you in all the GRAMMY magic.
