After talks with the police and Manchester city council, the organisers of Manchester Mardi Gras have announced that the show will go on.

The festival is organised by the Village Business Association, a collective of managers and venue owners from within the Village who are working in partnership with the lesbian and gay community. The proceeds of the event will go to local charities and community groups: Manchester Lesbian & Gay Foundation, The George House Trust and Body Positive North West for people with HIV and other smaller and unfunded groups within the Greater Manchester area.
The parade, essential dance arena, essential main stage, candle-lit vigil and the street market have been re-instated but the "works" party "sadly, cannot be saved at this late stage."
Please check the Manchester Mardi Gras website for more updates.
