Held to commemorate World AIDS Day on Dec 1, the “LOVE: Live.Laugh.Life” special gala event is sold out and has raised over S$100,000 for the NGO and advocacy group.
The night will see the premiere of Anniversary, a specially commissioned short film by celebrated filmmaker Royston Tan and writer Alfian Sa’at.
“AfA has come a long way since it was formed in 1988. The HIV and AIDS programmes that we run are only possible through the support and generosity of Singaporeans from all walks of life who have contributed in many different ways. We would like to thank the community, sponsors, donors and performers in LOVE for their generous contribution,” said Prof. Roy Chan, President of AfA.
The money raised from the event will be used to support AfA’s wide range of activities. This includes programmes that raise awareness and education, combat discrimination of infected individuals, as well as providing support services and funds to needy patients and families.
