A Gallup Korea poll revealed only 34 percent of respondents supported same-sex marriages, but 58% of people were opposed to it, according to Gay Star News.
The poll surveyed 1,004 people over a four day period at the end of May and revealed 90 percent of people agreed that LGBTI should have the same job prospects as other people.
Younger respondents were more likely to support same-sex marriage, while older respondents were largely against.
When the first poll launched in 2001, only 17 percent of people supported same-sex marriage.
