Taiwan's same-sex marriage bill may fall short of full equality

Taiwan Premier Su Tseng-chang is asking ‘our homosexual friends to wait a bit longer’.

On Thursday (21 February), Taiwan became the first in Asia to submit a same-sex marriage bill to its parliament. But as the details emerged, the government, lawmakers, and activists admitted it fell short of true marriage equality. Lawmakers from both major parties have been given free rein to debate and vote on the legislation.
