Hilary Swanks stars in two films now playing in the cinemas, Freedom Writers and The Reaping, but the two couldn't be more different. One of them is a powerful drama about a teacher and her students, and the other one is a piece of rubbish. Unfortunately, this is the review of the piece of rubbish
Hilary plays a scientific expert who travels around America to disprove various religious phenomena. But when she goes to a small Louisiana town to investigate what appears to be the plagues as recorded in the Bible's Book of Exodus, she finds that even science cannot explain these phenomena.
Well, science-schmience! Nothing can explain how a terrific actress like her could have agreed to star in this astonishingly bad horror flick. The story is utterly far-fetched, and typical horror cliches such as redundant crashing noises, a ghostly little girl and bodies appearing out of nowhere simply add to the annoyance.
Not even God can save this disaster.
