If you're into action babes, then you'll have a much better time with Maggie Q in Die Hard 4.0 than with Shu Qi in Gangster 3. Sexy and very agile, Maggie executes her karate chops more convincingly than Shu Qi. Even if both women had used stunt doubles in some scenes, the switch is a lot less obvious in the slick action-packed thriller Die Hard 4.0 than it is in the sloppy Gangster.
Indeed, Maggie is perfectly cast as the lethal girlfriend of an evil cyber-terrorist, played by Timothy Olyphant. The only man who can stop them now is Bruce Willis, a smart-alecky policeman who has a knack for showing up at the wrong place at the wrong time. This time round, he has a geeky computer hacker (cute Justin Long) to help him in his fight against the cyber terrorists.
Now if you've seen any of the previous three movies, you know what to expect superb (if somewhat improbable) action sequences from Die Hard 4.0 as our hero Bruce dodges bullets, chases cars, runs from explosions and leaps onto airborne jet fighters. Throughout them all, you also get to relish his usual dose of dry one-liners.
For sure, Die Hard 4.0 delivers the promise of action and suspense in spades. If you're an action fan who's not tired of the loud mega-budget blockbusters that the summer has offered one after the other, then by all means, go see this. You won't be disappointed.
