Ong Bak 2

Director: Tony Jaa

Language: In Thai with subtitles

Starring: Tony Jaa, Pongpat Wachirabunjong, Nirut Sirichanya, Janista Choochuaisuwan

Release: 2009-01-07

Do you like fight movies? Do you watch them mostly for the scenes where the characters beat the crap out of each other? Do you think stuff like plot and dialogue are unimportant? Is wrestling one of your favorite sports?

Then make a beeline for Ong Bak 2, which is already a smash hit in Thailand. The plot and dialogue are nonsensical and the direction is hopeless, but the fight scenes are daaammmn good. Seriously, Ong Bak 2 makes Ip Man look like a walk in the park. The fight scenes are viscerally thrilling and jaw-droppingly spectacular. We've never seen anyone fight like Thai fighting machine Tony Jaa - rightfully touted as the new Bruce Lee.

Ong Bak 2 is set in 15th Century Siam. In his bid to take over the entire kingdom, the power-hungry Lord Rajsena kills thousands of innocent people - including the good Lord Sidhadeco and his wife. The couple's young son Tien manages to run away and eventually gets trained in martial arts. Years later, when he's all grown up, Tien (Tony Jaa) decides to seek revenge

Tony Jaa's fighting skills are extraordinary. Although you have no clue why he has to look so damn pissed all the time, you can't tear your eyes away from him as he executes a plethora of fighting styles and performs impossible feats of agility.

The movie sucks, but Tony Jaa rocks.
