Love watching wrestling? If your answer is yes, then you'd probably know who John Cena is.
Buff enough to make you wish he was a porn star, the wrestler plays a police detective who arrests an international terrorist (Aiden Gillen) while on patrol. Somehow the terrorist manages to escape from prison and takes revenge by kidnapping John's girlfriend (Ashley Scott).
The terrorist gives John just one day to complete 12 rounds of challenges involving ticking clocks, bombs and runaway trains. If John screws up one of them, his girlfriend would die.
12 Rounds is directed Renny Harlin who helmed Die Hard 2 (1990) and CutthroatIsland (1995), so the action sequences are slick and well-shot. But John Cena - despite looking incredibly hot - is neither a convincing actor nor a charismatic presence. He's built like a wall, and has the personality of one too.
If action is all you're after, then catch this. Otherwise, don't even look at the ads.
