"Again?" you ask. Weelll, yes.
Before you brush it off, you should know that this remake of the 1980 classic slasher that spawned countless sequels is actually quite good. A large part of the reason could be due to the generous talents of director Marcus Nispel, whose 2003 remake of 1974's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was impressively efficient and enjoyable.
Marcus updates Friday the 13th by making Jason's killings faster and more inventive. The script is sharper and more contemporary, adding some new twists to the old plot so that even the audiences who have seen the original version won't be bored by the new film.
Soooo yes, Jason is well and alive 35 years after he appeared on screen. And by the looks of this new and very watchable remake, he may just live for another 35.
