I like Mariah but sad to say her latest album doesn't deliver like the last two. This is the only song that stands out. The rest is unremarkable...I wanted to return the CD I bought but have no other choice.
"Memoirs" was never meant to be a 'commercial' record like what the "Emancipation" era has been. People whom are usually disappointed are those who've never been with the real Mariah. =P
This album takes a few listening and it grows in you. The more I listen, the more I find this album a class of its own compared to her 2 earlier albums. Well, if you think its not worth your money, then perhaps Mariah is never your cup of tea to begin with. Ardent fans appreciate MC in the most sensual way, adore her musical talents through her voice and the music she writes. Love Mariah.........
Bought the CD and don't know what the hell is she singing, there are only 2 songs in the album is composed for human only, the rest??? For the creatures in District 9??
I am always a big fans of MC. I like this song in this album, she really take time to translate it. however, i like another song called ' Right to Dream' from her new movie.
@ #12, that's right~! "Memoirs" for me feels like a reprise "Butterfly" record, which is my most favorite record by her, which makes this, my second most favorite record by her. I've always adored the sensual Mariah.
@ #16, The critics did compare this album with the Butterfly album, so in many ways, this album is as good as its predecessor, if not, tour de force. For those who enjoys music that's really easily accessible, perhaps Lady GAGA makes the perfect pick. But for those who are capable of enjoying and appreciating music as what music is, then Mariah would definitely make the impeccable choice.
Because her music #19, has deeply touched our (at least mine) lives in some way or another, gave us the courage to live life & be comfortable in our own skins. Probably that's where all her steam has gone to - us.
This latest album took some time to grow on me. I had to listen to the entire album over and over again before I could truly appreciate the beauty of each song. Lyrics-wise, I love "The Impossible" the most. My most favorite song on the album is Angels Cry. =)
I'm a relationship oriented guy. Versatile, HIV-, no drugs, no drama. Love to laugh. Live right on a lake and enjoy the water. Love to explore, and the DC area has lots of interesting things to see and do. Looking for a decent looking guy, 24 - 39, whose mind is working, has a decent sense of humor and some adventure in him. Someone who says what he means and means what he says.
