After capturing the hearts of boys and girls with sweet ballads like "Broken" and "Going," studly British singer Pierre Lewis returns with the uptempo summer jam "That Feelin.'" Pierre worked on the song together with rapper Melodee from U.K. hip hop group Southfinesse who injected the singer's delicate pop sound with a chart-ready urban flavor while staying true to the sensitive gentleman Pierre is.
Working in the studio, Pierre set out to write an "uplifting track, to capture the summer party feeling," he tells me. While toying around with different sounds and samples, he was captured by a piano loop that immediately resonated with him. "Hearing that loop playing again and again I really focused into the essence of what I wanted to write about (. . . ) the feeling of being young, free and living in the moment."
He adds, "The verses are really a description of the journey towards getting to that state of mind of living in the moment. I love the James Dean quote 'Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today.' I wanted to reflect on that with this track."
Look out for Pierre performing at clubs across Europe this summer while working on prepping his debut album for a major release. Follow him on Twitter for frequent updates.
