Originally starting out as a street dance troop, Madonna wanted to tap into the "free running" craze and invited Six D to join her on the Confessions On A Dancefloor Tour. That's a pretty amazing gig if you're only just getting started.
Six D are Kieran Edmonds, Cassie MacMillan, Chantelle Bernard, Pierre Angus, Kimmy Campbell and 15-year old world champion street dancer Levon de Silva. After the group's initial exposure with Madonna and on streets in and around London, Jive Records signed the group to a worldwide deal to develop them as a major pop act and to gear them up for the big time.
Six D have spent most of 2010 jetting from L.A. to Miami, London and back again, working on their debut album with an all-star cast of producers and songwriters, including my pals of The Stereotypes (Far East Movement, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber), Wayne Wilkins (Cheryl Cole, Beyonce), Rico Love (Usher, P Diddy, Kelly Rowland) and Jim Jonsin (Beyonce, Eminem, Drake).
Also, Lady Gaga's choreographer Laurieann Gibson recognized Six D's unique potential and has been working with the spunky six to tune their free-flowing, catchy dance moves for the pop stage.
Check out a totally guilt-free download of Six D's buzz track "So Easy" to get a taste of their high octane pop sound that is ruled by a sly, sexy dance groove and the group's hooky vocals. This is some dynamite stuff that is instantly catchy. Super fun.
