The word about Barry Southgate is slowly but surely getting out. The Aussie crooner has been enchanting audiences with his slick soul pop sound Down Under, touring with Brian McKnight and Tinie Tempah recently. His opening gigs for these global stars are the perfect set up for the release of his forthcoming debut EP "Epitome" that will further clue us in about his heartfelt brand of soul pop. 

I first featured the sweet-voiced singer (who was a finalist on the Australian version of the global Idol franchise) back in March when I posted his tune, "Don't You Think." As a songwriter, Southgate's mission is to "bring change somewhere" with his music. The breezy "Summer Night" is a good example of that. It's a promising tune that spotlights Southgate's ability to write and perform big ballads that sure will pull a few heartstrings.
