Some of you may remember Amina Bryant from her U.K. break out smash "Jimmy" that leapt onto the BBC Radio 1Xtraplaylist earlier this year. Bryan is gearing up for another push with her new single "Why You Do That," a very catchy dancehall-influenced pop and Ne-Yo-esque R&B ditty with glossy vocal harmonies and a soulful groove that has major chart potential.

The release of "Why You Do That" follows her "Back To The Future" mixtape that is hosted by CJ Beatz, and features a musical journey showcasing Bryant’s past and present influences, inspirations and original works. 

Inspired by artists like Stevie Wonder, Burt Bacharach and Ne-Yo, Amina Bryant began writing and recording at a young age, hailing from a heavily musical family of Jamaican origin. "I grew up in Brixton," the emerging singer explains in a press release. "It's a melting pot of cultures so you draw influences from everywhere, my brothers were listening to jungle, hip hop and basement, my parents were listening to reggae and soul, while my sister was listening to R&B, so I took all those influences in." 

Bryant has forged a powerful bond with producer WhiZz K!D to craft her hit-savvy sound, while she focuses mostly on producing. "I write, record and arrange everything I do, but I also play a huge part in terms of the production and the overall mix," she explains. "Me and my producer work as a unit, he usually comes up with an ideafor the music or beat and then we develop it together." Listen to "Why You Do That" after the break.
