Lawson premieres video for new single "When She Was Mine" [Review]

The guys from Lawson pick up their guitars and hit the drums while telling a story of love and heartbreak in their freshly unveiled video for their excellent new single ''When She Was Mine.''

Filmed in Los Angeles, the video shows the group performing the song in a white loft space and during sunset on a downtown rooftop to set the perfect atmospheric and melancholic tone for the tune.

The group's performance in the video is interspersed with scenes of frontman Andy Brown who flashbacks to better times while flipping through old photographs reminiscing about popping champagne, driving the Benz and hitting up the local Farmers Market. The nostalgic scenes are the perfect backdrop to lyrics like, "What I miss the most is talking up all night. We laughed until we cried now I'm breaking at the seams dropping to my knees and nothing left of me."

Like I wrote before, with The Wanted and One Direction coming on strong stateside, Lawson is primed to be the next big U.K. pop thing to happen in North America. The group is the teaming of frontman Andy Brown (vox/guitar), Joel Peat (lead guitar), Adam Pitts (drums) and Ryan Fletcher (bass).

Signed to Polydor Records, they have spent more time out in Los Angeles in recent months soaking up the Cali sun and writing song for their forthcoming debut LP with none other than GRAMMY winning producer John Shanks. (Lawson's "When She Was Mine" will be released in the U.K. on May 27. Support new pop pre-order the single here.)
